Job Summary:
The Transport Coordinator works with hospital personnel in order to gather required transport information and facilitate the smooth request of medical transport services from PT-1’s Communication Center or other network providers of such services. The On-Site Coordinator will work closely with Operations, Dispatch, and Business Development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with case managers and authorized hospital personnel in obtaining all pertinent patient and billing information required for medical transportation requests
- Organizes and prioritizes duties
- Maintains regular punctual attendance
- Demonstrates and employ excellent troubleshooting, listening and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times
- Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
- Develop a high degree of familiarity with the Sacramento service area
- Maintain a high degree of familiarity and demonstrate compliance with all established ProTransport-1 and customer policies and procedures as they apply to coordination of patient referral and transport
- Demonstrate the ability to take direction, work independently and as part of a group
- Assists Hospital parties in all transport needs
- Internal Resource support
- Timely notification of delays
- Prioritize ambulance resources
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Independent decision making and problem solving ability
- Excellent Customer Service, Verbal, Written and Interpersonal communication skills
- CAD and data entry experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Walking/sitting; reaching/handling; carrying less than 25lbs; stooping.
- Heavy Computer usage requiring frequent repetitive hand movements
