POSITION:                    Revenue Cycle Pre-Billing Supervisor

REPORTS TO:             Senior Revenue Cycle Manager

Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Pre-Billing Supervisor is responsible for oversight, execution, and follow-up of all pre-billing processes. The Revenue Cycle Pre-Billing Supervisor will also be responsible for all initial training, monitoring of progress, and representative performance while ensuring compliance with company and payer guidelines.

This individual maintains open dialog with pre-billing employees and management regarding challenges, remediation, and personnel and program strengths or weaknesses. They also review documentation and prepare evaluations, making recommendations for discipline, remediation and advancement.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pre-billing employees and evaluate performance efficiency
  • Monitor staffing levels and day-to-day workflow to ensure department goals are met
  • Communicate effectively interdepartmentally and with operations personnel
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings to problem-solve challenges with missing or incomplete patient care reports and other improvement opportunities
  • Provide a comprehensive overview of pre-billing procedures and requirements to new hires
  • Develop training material for use in initial and continuing training education
  • Schedule performance improvement workshops and training classes
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed for the department
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, Government Regulations, and Ambulance Reimbursement criteria
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by Management

 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Consideration may be given for education and training related to ambulance billing, insurance administration and medical office management. Must have been signed off for learning all procedures proficiently and performing all tasks by a current member of management.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree, or equivalent combination of formal training and experience
  • Minimum of two years EMS / Ambulance Industry experience
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience or a proven track record of managing individuals to achieve results
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge of third-party and insurance companies as well as operating procedures, regulations and billing requirements
  • Self- motivated, self-directed and attentive to details
  • Strategic thinker, decision-maker and problem-solver with analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel

 

   Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for an extended period
  • Frequent repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, reaching and grasping
  • Must be able to hear and communicate clearly to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
  • Able to read information from printed sources and computer screens
